NXP went from shrinking to growing 19%, with content-led products doing nearly all the work and a data center business appearing mid-year. The question is whether those design wins ramp in time for 2027. Which auto chips still have to start shipping?
Revenue fell year-on-year in Q3 FY2025. By Q2 FY2026 content-led auto products supplied nearly all of that segment's growth and the core business was growing too, so sales no longer hinge on car production recovering.
It was sized at about $200M and is now expected to pass $500M this year. NXP sells the power, cooling and control gear around AI chips, so it gets paid as racks are built. How concentrated is the data center business?
It reaffirmed the 2027 target this year, which needs double-digit growth and gross margin toward 60%. That promise was made before the data center business existed, and rising input costs can only be partly passed on.
